QUALITY CONTROL

PROCESS

Citel’s vertical manufacturing process gives us control over the quality of our products, from the fiber to the finished fabric, within our premises. Before starting spinning, a check is done to ensure that the fiber conforms to the requirements for ensuring that a thread of the highest quality will be made.

All our raw materials undergo a complete quality-control procedure in our laboratory. During the weaving process, constant checks are made to avoid errors in the arrangement of threads in the design. The fabrics are continuously checked on the looms to ensure they fully comply with our customers’ requirements.

In the finishing process, we use cutting-edge technology to ensure that the fabric has the same properties from the first to the last meter and conforms with the required specifications.

The final visual inspection is carried out on both sides of all the fabrics to ensure that our customer receives a product with no defects. The data extracted during the whole process and the final checks allow us to make continuous improvements across our range of designs.

Innovation and the design of new fabrics require the various industrial sectors to be regulated to make the products reliable. For this reason, in 2006, a European standard was introduced, covering all the components of an external awning or external blind, especially fabrics intended for protection from sun protection: standard UNE EN 13561 (EC mark). Our fabrics comply with this standard, as well as with other national standards from different countries for which we export; this is further proof of our commitment to quality. The control of quality is ensured by the rigorous application of the standard UNE EN ISO 9001:2005.

In 1996 Citel obtained the ISO 9001 certification, which is still present in all companies of the group operative throughout all the companies in the group. This certification confers on the Company the highest recognition of quality and safety.
